I’m in a house on a hill

Which is a club

Which is the world

everyone passes at one point or

another

I’m standing not looking

anyone in the eye and a girl

turns her head

And we know each other

I’m in a house on a hill

which is a club

which is the world

which is life

everyone passes at one point or

another. Michel Belfer has an espresso and whoop!

He’s off to get a drink

I’m standing in the corner not looking anyone in the eye

and a girl turns her head

And we know each other. And we

leave together

Remember when there was life

Remember when nothing was banal

Remember when the minutes

spent waiting for a bus were filled

with amazement

Remember when you were

totally consumed in the pure joy

of the process of life itself.

As I write

I look out the car window

and see a cop.

Acuerdate cuando habia vida

Cuando nada era banal

Cuando los minutos

esperando un autobus

estaban llenos de asambro

Cuando te consumias en el gazo

puro del proceso de la vida misma

I’ve lost my bearings

I’ve veered too far north

off course

I’ve got to back to familiar turf

The only problem is

it’s been so long

I don’t know when I’ll know

when its familiar
